Molly's Success Story

Molly thought her family was well on the way to a secure future. Her husband's trucking business was doing well, and she started taking classes at the local community college, the first step in her dream of becoming a nurse. Shortly after Molly decided to go to school full time, the price of gasoline skyrocketed. Her husband's six-day-a-week haul fell to one day if he was lucky. Without an income, Molly thought she'd have to drop out. Worst of all, she felt like her education had become a hardship for her family. She thought her dream of a nursing career was going to slip through her fingers. Scholarship America's Dreamkeepers program came through with short-term financial assistance, and Molly was able to finish her degree. Her husband is working in a new job, and Molly will soon be enrolled in a four-year college - all because she didn't have to drop out. In these tough economic times of rising costs, market turbulence, and strained retirement investments, all of us are affected. College students are feeling these effects more than most.
